Scripture: Luke 14:15-24
Comments: Jesus was announcing to the Jews that He was here and His kingdom was coming. They were not very interested. They had their own lives to live. In the same way, many students have grown up "in the faith" and may truly be believers, but aren't very interested in what God wants to do in their lives because they have their own lives to live.

Scripture: Isaiah 48:6-8
Acts 13:32-41
1 Corinthians 1:18-25
In Acts 13, Paul is speaking on how the Psalms are evidence of Jesus as the Messaih. In Isaiah 48, God is saying that He has chosen not to reveal things to His people until the appropriate time, because He knows best. In 1 Corinthians, Paul explains that the ways of Christ are foolish to the World.
The students may have grown up in the Church and know all the evidence, but until God reveals Himself to them, they are stuck where they are. Being on fire for God is foolish or useless to them, because they do not understand. We can preach all we want and have all the right programs, but if the Holy Spirit doesn't move in the hearts of the students, it will have no effect.
I believe that it is important to pray that the Holy Spirit would move in the lives of the students and that God would reveal Himself to them in a new way. Over and again in Scripture, it states that one must be called by Christ to follow Him. We should pray that He would do that.
However, we can't simply stop what we're doing and only pray for that to happen. "Behold, you despisers, Marvel and perish! For I work a work in your days, a work which you will by no means believe, though one were to declare it to you." We need to declare it.
